My Job
I've never really worked a real, 20 hour a week job during school, until I started working at The Center for Teaching and Learning this past March.
I was hesitant when I applied-I knew the fact that I'd never worked during the school year before was very obvious. I knew it probably didn't inspire much confidence in those I interviewed with.
But I was confident that I could do it. And I was more than confident in the fact that I needed a job.
It wasn't easy-I probably applied to 20 jobs online at BYU and spent hours perusing the internet to find something that would work. Finally in March I got an interview-and that lead to the job. I knew I had to prove that I could do both school and work.
And I think I have.
I love my job. I am thankful to work for a place that recognizes that school is my number 1 priority. I'm thankful for the security that comes from knowing I'll be able to pay rent. I'm thankful for the people I work with-they are an amazing group that leaves me inspired everyday. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work, and the feeling that comes from working hard and doing well. I consider this job one of the very greatest blessings I've received this year, and I could not be more thankful for it.
