Happy Valentines Day!

In honor of this little lovers holiday I just wanted to share a few of these photos we recently had taken. A photographer friend of ours offered to give us a photo session, and we were thrilled! She had some great ideas, and we had a lot of fun baking, and hanging out in our home! However, the best part is that she got some truly great photos of what this stage of our life looks like right now-laughter, kisses, baking, and lazy afternoons in our little home. It's such a happy stage of life, and I'm so glad that we now have these pictures to help us always remember it!

Happy Valentines Day Nate! I love you so much, and this little life we've created together makes me incredibly happy. I'm so glad I get to be your Valentine forever!

Our First Valentines Day

I have always adored Valentines Day. Such a wonderful idea-a day devoted to telling people how much you love them! This year it was especially great-because it was my first Valentines Day with Nate.

It was a pretty low key weekend for us, but it was absolutely perfect. We got to sign on our first apartment together on Valentines day. Although we won't be living there until we're married, we were so excited to find a place that we both really like.

Our home is behind us... well, we'll live in the basement, but still-isn't it beautiful?

After that we headed up to Solider Hollow and went tubing. It was a blast. We finished the night off with 5 Guys, which may be a new tradition. Who wants to wait forever to get in somewhere nice?

And of course the day was full of beautiful flowers. Nate got me beautiful red roses, Dad gave me his annual pink roses, and I won an arrangement of peonies from an instagram giveaway!

Flowers, Nate, and a whole lot of love. It was the perfect Valentines day. I can't wait to spend my life sharing Valentines with him.

Oh-and our favorite sister missionary sent us this awesome IU t-shirts as a Valentine present. Everyone in the family got t-shirts, but she made sure that Nate and I had matching ones. Thanks Abbie!

Love

I'm actually really great at loving people and at saying I love you. We have just always been that way in our family (blame it good parenting and a healthy dose of Disney movies) Over time though  I've come to realize that some people are a lot more conservative with their "I love you", as if saying it too much diminishes it's meaning. For some people that may be the case.

Here is the thing about that though-I love a lot of people.

I love my parents, my sisters, my roommates, my neighbors, the best friend I've had since preschool who now lives in Hawaii, the friends I've had for a year who live down the street, the friends that got me through freshman year, the ones who live next door, and the one who is currently moving across the country.  I love my Aunts and Uncles, my cousins and their kids, my "other mom"s I had all growing up, the girls I backpacked Italy with, and the ones who lived in Palace Court with me.

And as I've thought about that-about how many people I love, I've realized that when it comes to saying "I love you" it's not about how many people you say it to-but about the honesty with which it's said. And I am nothing, if not extremely, sometimes even un-tactfully, honest. So know this-when I tell someone I love them, I really do mean it, no matter how many other people I may have said it to.

I feel blessed to have so many wonderful people to love in my life, and to be loved in return from a few of the best.

Happy Valentines Day!
